Gwyneth's Vintage Shabby Chic 1st Birthday!

For Gwyneth's 1st birthday, I wanted to create a classy, old-fashioned, spring social feel. Our guests were asked to dress in their "Sunday Best" and get into the party theme. We had a game of croquet set up and classical music playing in the background. Tables lined with lace, were topped with old fashioned candies and an assortment of finger foods. It was such a fun party and all of our guest were so sweet to celebrate our little lady's 1st year with us! We love her so much, and she makes our hearts grow more everyday. Happy 6th Birthday Cale

Last Friday, my firstborn turned 6 years old. It's weird, it seems like it flew by, but yet it seems long ago. Having Cale changed my life. Or better yet, he didn't really change my life at all, in reality my life had just begun. I gave birth to him on July 22nd, 2005 at 2:43pm in Stillwater, Ok when I was 21 years old. He weighed 8 lbs 12.5 oz and was 22 inches long. Looking into his big, dark brown eyes for the very first time, I fell hopelessly in love with this sweet, baby boy. Every year after that, I continue to fall more and more. He is growing so much, so fast, and in every way. Cale and I are alike in many ways, it's almost as if we share the same soul. So thankful I was chosen to be his momma, I couldn't imagine life any other way. I love you, Cale. You have made my life so full of everything good. Hope every birthday only gets happier, and happier.

6th Birthday Overview: We celebrated Friday morning with a chocolate sprinkled donut and candles for breakfast, then Friday night with Chinese takeout (one of his faves) and a movie. Then Saturday after I got off work, my parents came up to stay with little sister so Chris and I could take Cale to stay in a hotel per his request. It was a special time and it's not too often we get to spend such personal one on one with him since Gwyneth was born. We've decided to make the hotel stay tradition each birthday, until he decides he's "too old" :). We swam, snacked on candy, and watched movies. Finally Sunday was his birthday party. We rented out a really neat pool and clubhouse, thanks to our dear friends and the whole family came up and had a blast! His party theme was "OKC Thunder". He had the time of his life and it felt good to see him so happy.

Gwyneth turns 1

 Where has the time gone? I cannot believe our Gwyneth Rose is 1! {actually, more like 1 and then some....but hey, I have a busy life} She has made our hearts grow like we never imagined over this last year, and we love seeing her personality come to life!
